Writer's Edition Tribute to Victor Hugo
Every year, since 1992, a Writer's Edition pays tribute to the greatest authors in the world.
This year, the writer's collection pays tribute to this genius of literature, whose work and life have contributed to shaping the French nation: Victor Hugo.
Poet, playwright, writer, and novelist of the 19th century. He is considered one of the most famous French writers, particularly for the works "Notre-Dame de Paris" (1831) and "Les Misérables" (1862).
A committed political and intellectual personality. He played a major ideological role in the history of French literature.
This edition reflects passion and architecture.
Description of the writing instrument
The Writer's Edition Tribute to Victor Hugo is entirely made of precious black resin with platinum accents. Molded in 3D, its reliefs embody the beauty and architecture of Notre Dame as well as the spirit of a great thinker.
The motif of this edition is inspired by the Gothic style of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Victor Hugo's signature is engraved on the cap.
A quote from the novel Les Contemplations is inscribed on the dome of the cap: "Each man in his night goes towards his light".
The cone has been shaped like the pillar to which Quasimodo is chained.
Each pen is meticulously handcrafted by our artisans and made of rhodium-plated 18K gold, engraved with a chimera.
The droplet-shaped clip represents the bell ringer of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. The face of Jean Valjean, a character from the novel Les Misérables, is hidden on the back of the clip.
The Writer's Edition tribute to Victor Hugo, limited to 1831 pieces, is also inspired by the Gothic style of Notre Dame.
The intense red of this edition recalls the color of Jean Valjean's prison uniform.
The clover from the forecourt of Notre-Dame is present on the ring of the cone.
The numbers 24601 and 9430 inscribed on the cap are the prisoner numbers assigned to Jean Valjean during his first and second imprisonments.
The story of Victor Hugo is now immortalized in a collection of special and limited edition writing instruments by Montblanc.
