The design of the MontBlanc 105591 Limited Edition fountain pen inspired by Mahatma Gandhi was influenced by the symbol of Indian independence as well as by Gandhi's action symbol: the cotton spinner. The surface design recalls the fine texture of cotton. The cap and the cone with intricate patterns are made of 925 sterling silver symbolizing the thread, the orange garnet on the clip symbolizes the orange color of the Indian flag and reflects the high symbolic value of the spinning wheel. The rhodium-plated Au 750 gold alloy is adorned with a delicate engraving on Gandhi's path to independence.
