This Great Characters Miles Davis edition pays tribute to one of the most innovative and influential jazz musicians of all time: Miles Dewey Davis. He was not only an extraordinary-sounding trumpeter but also a pioneer of almost all phases of post-war American jazz, from cool jazz to rock-jazz-funk fusion, which earned him a place in the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.
The general shape of the writing instrument is inspired by the trumpet, complemented by the pistons on the clip. The fine engraving on the body evokes the main phases of the evolution of post-war American jazz influenced by Miles Davis, while the blue cone recalls 'Kind of Blue', one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. The shape of the cone is inspired by the 'Heim' mouthpiece he used to play. The nib is engraved with the silhouette of Miles Davis, and the edition is limited to 1926 pieces in reference to his birth year.
