Ludovico Sforza, born in 1452, is the fourth son of Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. Crowned Duke of Milan himself in 1494, Ludovico provides financial support to the humanist branch of the University of Milan. He is also the one who enlarged and beautified the Renaissance-style fortress Castello Sforzesco.
The design of the top of the cap and the cone of the limited Ludovico Sforza edition, limited to 888 pieces, reflects the pronounced architecture of the Castello Sforzesco. The ornaments of the fresco painted by da Vinci enhance the translucent blue lacquer of this edition. The engraving on the cap ring recalls the "testone", one of the silver coins of the Italian Renaissance, minted in honor of Ludovico Sforza. The 18K solid gold attributes bring the finishing touch to this exceptional edition in tribute to Ludovico Sforza. The coat of arms of the Duke of Milan serves as inspiration for the engravings on the 18K solid gold nib.
