Scipione Borghese (September 1, 1577 – October 2, 1633) was an Italian cardinal, collector, and art patron. A member of the Borghese family, he was the patron of the painter Caravaggio and the artist Bernini. He bequeathed to posterity the establishment of the art collection of the Villa Borghese in Rome, a monument of Roman decoration at its most extravagant, and which houses the finest collections of Baroque sculptures in the world.
