The Montblanc Patron of Art collection, launched in 1992, pays tribute each year to a historical patron of the arts. In 2022, for its 30th anniversary and final edition, the luxury brand introduced a couple edition celebrating the life and legacy of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The Patron of Art Homage to Albert Limited Edition 888 fountain pen is a tribute to Prince Albert and his major achievements. The pen is inspired by the Crystal Palace, built by Prince Albert to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. The gray color is a homage to the tartan designed by Albert for Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The pen features a body and cap made of translucent gray lacquer adorned with a sculpted gold signature work Au 750/1000. The fittings are platinum. The shape of the clip, embellished with a red garnet, celebrates the scepter of his wife.
The pen measures 145.3 x 18.5 mm and weighs 100 g. It is a fountain pen, which means it uses liquid ink delivered by a nib.
