Mécène d'Art Edition - Napoleon
Created in the Montblanc Craft Workshop from precious materials, the Montblanc Patron of Art edition celebrates the life and patronage of Napoleon Bonaparte. French Emperor from 1804 to 1814, he was a champion of the arts beyond his role as a military leader and statesman. Indeed, he was the originator of the revival of decorative arts, and the era of Napoleon is considered the “golden age of French craftsmanship.” Special attention was paid by him to Neoclassicism, a movement in the visual arts, literature, music, and architecture. Through the creation of the four editions of the “Montblanc Patron of Art Tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte,” the House tells the story of Napoleon's meteoric rise, from soldier to consul, and then to Emperor of the French. The neoclassical style of the writing instruments combines geometric design and pure lines with rich decorations.
